What to Avoid in the First 30 Days

Several patterns consistently undermine early momentum in AI-supported Operational Excellence programmes. They are worth naming explicitly because they are easy to fall into and hard to reverse once they become established.

Mapping too many processes at once. The instinct to capture everything quickly can work against focus. When five processes are being mapped simultaneously, none of them produce the depth of understanding needed to make a confident improvement decision. Breadth comes after depth, not before it.

Treating the map as the deliverable. A process map that sits in a document repository and is never used to make a decision has failed at its purpose.
